A native of Medford, Massachusetts, Deirdre Goulding Blomberg, TCRG, ADCRG, began dancing at the age of four. During her competitive career, she captured many solo titles including four North American titles, 10 New England titles, and numerous All World Championship placements, the highest being third. Throughout her career, she was also a member of many winning regional, national, and international, ceili and choreography teams.

Deirdre attended Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island on an academic and art Presidential Scholarship. She graduated in 1991 with a degree in business.

Since retiring from competition, Deirdre has performed nationally and internationally in concert halls and festivals around the world. She has appeared with The Chieftains, the Boston Pops, Cherish The Ladies and Seamus Connolly’s Cuchulainn, among others.

In 1997, Deirdre joined the internationally acclaimed Riverdance – The Show in England and then performed in the show’s first tours of Australia and North America. She was also a cast member when Riverdance debuted on the Grammy Awards and at The Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C.

Deirdre received her certification as an Irish dance teacher in 1993. Since earning her accreditation, she has established and developed schools in both Cranston, RI and Medford, MA. Her students compete both in solo and team competitions regionally, nationally and internationally.

Deirdre currently resides in Wellesley, MA. with her husband and three children.
